Mortadella, Burrata and Pesto Focaccia Sandwich
This is an amazing sandwich with some of the best traditional Italian ingredients: mortadella, burrata, pesto, balsamic vinegar, arugula and focaccia.
You can make it with store-bought focaccia and pesto or you can make your own. Here’s a delicious onion focaccia recipe and a basil pesto recipe by Nest of Chef founder, Chef Paul Hegeman.
The recipe calls for balsamic cream, which can be bought in specialty stores or online (see Amazon link). However, you can use a balsamic vinaigrette or reduced balsamic as a substitute.
Burrata can also be replaced with regular mozzarella, though we prefer the creamier burrata for this sandwich.
